SALINA, Kan. – The York University baseball team dropped a 12-0 seven-inning contest at Kansas Wesleyan Tuesday afternoon in a league contest.
The Panthers are now 11-19 on the season, including 9-10 in KCAC action.
Head coach
Brian Walth's team recorded its first base runner in the fourth. With two down,
Landon Morgan was hit by a pitch on a 1-0 count. Five pitches later,
Sam Hodoly was also hit by a pitch. However, a fielder's choice ended the inning.
In the sixth,
Austin Petersen drew a walk after falling behind 0-2 with two down. Morgan was hit by a pitch as was Hodoly, loading the bases.
Noah Prasad entered as a pinch runner for Hodoly and was erased on the ensuing play on a fielder's choice, concluding the inning.
Jay Twedt was hit by an offering to lead off the seventh. He promptly took second on a wild pitch. A fly ball, a groundout and a line drive ended the stanza.
On the mound,
Brayden Woodard worked 3.2 innings and had a strikeout.
Ruben Colliander and
Jaret Mello worked one-third of a frame each.
Trace Hall threw two-thirds of an inning and recorded a strikeout.
Nate Dalizon tossed a frame and picked up two strikeouts.
