Men's Basketball picks up win at McPherson

McPherson, KAN. - York's defense held the McPherson College Bulldogs to 65 points on the night as the Panthers cruised to a 76-65 win Wednesday night. Patrick Burnett (SR/Erie, Pa) was once again a game changer as he scored 19 second half points to help York pull away for the win on the road.

Aaron Munday-Rashid (JR/Melbourne, Australia) scored 12 points off of the bench while Michael Tolbert (JR/Apopka, Fla) and Lance Ewell (JR/Brock, Texas) each added 11. York outrebounded the Bulldogs 47-35 and forced McPherson to just 34% shooting from the field.

York had a 12 point lead with 2:17 left in the first half, but a technical foul by Munday-Rashid and a two quick baskets by the Bulldogs had their lead cut to 35-30 within 30 seconds. York clung to a 37-32 lead at the break.

The second half York started to pull away half way through the second half building a 55-45 lead at 10:29 remaining. McPherson never came within single digits again as York led by as many as 15 with just over two minutes left in the game.

The Panthers move to 4-2 in conference play, currently tied for third best in the conference. York will host Avila University on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
