Sterling, KAN. Aaron Munday-Rashid (JR/Melbourne, Australia) led the Panthers with 22 points as they picked up a much needed win on the road Saturday night beating Sterling 93-85. It was the first time York had eclipsed 85 points since their win over Tabor on January 7 with a 93-79 score.
As the Panthers' offense couldn't muster much in the first half, the second half was a different story as York scored 55 points on 55% shooting from the floor, including a sizzling 58% from beyond the arc.
Roc Johnson helped with that as he went 4-of-6 from deep as he ended the night with 18 points, a season high. Patrick Burnett (SR/Erie, Pa) was the only other Panther to score in double figures with 17 points and seven rebounds.
York's defense again helped lead the way as forced 17 turnovers, turning them into 22 points. The defense also held the Warriors to just 40% from the field on the night, including 27% from beyond the arc.
The Panthers will be back at home this Wednesday as they host Ottawa University at 7:00 p.m. in the Freeman Center.
