Wichita, KAN. - York led for all of two minutes on Saturday night as they cruised to an 84-70 win on the road against Friends University. Five York players scored in double figures, led by Cameron Burns, who came off of the bench to score 17 points. Tyreece Berry scored 16 points off of the bench as well, as the Panthers held a 36-9 advantage in that statistical category. DeAnte Barnes added 16 points, eight assists, and six rebounds to his stat sheet, while Michael Tolbert added 13 points and Eric Lenear chipped in 11.
York shot a sizzling 57% from the field for the game. They shot 56% from beyond the arc on 10-of-16 shooting. After a first half where neither team saw much of the free-throw line, the teams changed course in the second half. The teams combined for 15 free-throw attempts in the first half and then combined for 44 attempts in the second half.
The Panthers currently are tied for the eighth spot in the KCAC standings. With two games to go the Panthers find themselves in the mix of a lot of different scenarios that their season could boil down to. York hosts Sterling College on Wednesday night with their tip-off occurring 20 minutes after the women's game ends.
