Box Score 2 YORK - The Panthers had a tall task in trying to upset a strong Kansas Wesleyan team on Wednesday night in the Freeman Center. The Coyotes were prepared for the Panthers' toughest test and passed with a 67-44 win.
York pressure the Coyotes defensively forcing 20 turnovers, but the Panthers couldn't answer offensively as they struggled from the floor with a 24% shooting percentage. Four of the Coyotes starters scored in double figures as they led 18-10 after the first period. After leading by 19 at intermission the Coyotes came out in the third quarter to leave no doubt in the game with a 25-8 score. York outscored the Coyotes in the final period, but it was too little too late.

York attempted 14 more shots on the night but shot just 24% from the floor. Kansas Wesleyan shot over 47% from the floor and 50% from beyond the arc. The Panthers had a plus-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. York's starters were a combined 11-45 on the night.

Amaia Diez led the Panthers with 12 points and nine rebounds. Shawnau Johnson was solid from the field going 5-7 for 11 points. Julia Trujillo was the other Panther to score in double figures with ten points.
