Panthers' season comes to end at Oklahoma Wesleyan

Bartlesville, Okla. - York College saw its season come to a close in the opening round of the KCAC Volleyball tournament. The Panthers traveled to Bartlesville for the first-round matchup and were defeated in straight sets by the Eagles, 25-16, 25-12, 25-17.

The Panthers seemed to be in the match as they battled from an 11-7 deficit to tie the game at 13 in the opening set. The Eagles went on a 12-3 run to end the set and carry that momentum the rest of the night. They jumped ahead in the second set 15-5 and never looked back as they won 25-12. York fought hard in the third set and saw themselves in a tie game at 14. But it was the Eagles that had the big run once again and finished the match on an 11-3 run.

The Panthers offense struggled all night as they hit just .069 on their attacks. That was compared to Oklahoma Wesleyan's .274. York had just 18 kills on the night, led by Brooke Halterman's five. Darby Wright led the Panthers with 10 assists. She added eight digs to her stat line, the same amount as Alexandrea Garcia ran for team highs.

York finishes the season 6-20 overall and 2-10 in KCAC play.
