Box Score YORK - York College outscored the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles 25-19 in the final period, but ultimately fell short as the final score of 71-64 dropped the Panthers to 0-7 in KCAC action. After trailing by 15 points midway through the third period the Panthers went on a run in the fourth to bring the game within five points with under two minutes to play. Unfortunately, the Panthers couldn't climb any closer as the Eagles' offense kept the Panthers at bay.
The first half was a struggle for the Panthers on the offensive side of the ball. York finished the half shooting just 28% from the field and was 1-for-13 from beyond the arc. The second half saw the Panthers' offense jump up in numbers as they shot 52% from the field.
Natalia Perez and Diamond Harrington were the Panthers to reckon with in the third quarter as Perez scored all eight of her points and Harrington also added eight of her career-high 15 points. The fourth quarter had Yionis Keith take over as she scored 8 of her 16 points in the final frame. Julia Trujillo was the other Panther to score in double figures with 12 points.
Oklahoma Wesleyan had a plus-7 advantage in points off of turnovers and bench points. Kiara Pesina was the only other Panther to score off of the bench aside from Harrington.
Keith had a team-high eight rebounds and six assists for York.
York will travel to Ottawa University on Saturday for a KCAC clash. The Panthers are 0-7 in KCAC play and 2-10 overall.
