Box Score YORK - York College needed extra time to put away the visiting Lancers from Mount Marty as Tamas Sebestyen scored in the 98th minute to give York the 1-0 victory. Both sides created opportunities in the game but no one was able to find the net during regulation.
Sebestyen led the Panthers with four shots and his final shot was the factor. The Panthers were attacking down the left side of the field and toward the end line Sebestyen turned a heal flick toward Sebastian Sanhueza. However, the flick was deflected away by a Lancer defender and sat right in front of Tamas. He knocked it in for the win just past an outstretched keeper.
Igor Fernandes picked up three shots, while Jose Calderon was the other Panther with multiple shot attempts as he finished with two.
Cristofer Monje picked up the shutout as he saved both shots he faced.
Overall the Panthers created more offensive opportunities with a 14-5 shot advantage. The Lancers did have some good looks, especially off of the six corner kicks they had.
York will face Bethel College on Sunday, September 19 in North Newton, Kansas. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
