Box Score McPherson, KAN. - McPherson College started off strong and never looked back as they beat the Panthers 79-64 on Tuesday night in the opening round of the KCAC Tournament. McPherson scored first and the Panthers were never able to take a lead in a game that was decided in the first half. York tried several times to take the lead but every time the Panthers scored the Bulldogs had an answer. After one half of play the Panthers found themselves down by 12 points 43-31.
The Panthers shot better in the second half (52% from the floor) than their opponents (43%), but the Bulldogs didn't let up as their rebounding made all of the difference. York tallied 30 rebounds, just three offensive, while the Bulldogs corralled 47, 12 offensive.
Keyaun Hoskin was the only player for the Panthers to score in double figures with 20 points. Webster Simeus and Isaiah King each scored nine points. Erik Talton scored eight, with Drake Moore right behind with seven points scored.
The Bulldogs will play Bethel College in the second round of the KCAC Tournament. York finishes their season at 11-20.
