2022-23 KCAC Scholar Teams Announced

York leads KCAC with six teams recognized

WICHITA, Kan. – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) and Barnes & Noble College are pleased to announce the KCAC Scholar Teams for the 2022-23 school year. The team with the highest grade point average in each sport is designated as the KCAC Scholar Team for that sport. Barnes & Noble College is the official sponsor of KCAC Scholar-Athlete and Scholar Team awards, and is the official campus bookstore and course material provider of the KCAC.

The York women's cross country team holds the highest Team Grade Point Average (3.890), with the Sterling women's basketball team having the second-higest Team Grade Point Average (3.770).

York leads the conference with six of their teams recognized as the KCAC Scholar Team in their respective sports.

To be eligible for this award, the cumulative GPA for student-athletes whose names appear on a team's participation list must be above 2.75 on a 4.00 scale. Out of those teams who reach that mark, the highest team GPA in each sport will be designated as that sport's KCAC Scholar Team.

The KCAC only recognizes the Scholar Team with the top team grade point average in each sport. At the NAIA level, all teams that reach the organization's scholar team requirements are recognized. Therefore, multiple KCAC schools may be recognized as Scholar Teams in the same sport under the NAIA's requirements. The complete list of NAIA Scholar Teams will be published at a later date.
