LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – The York University men's cross country team finished 11
th at the KCAC Championships, which were held Saturday.
St. Mary won the meet while Kansas Wesleyan and Evangel rounded out the top three squads in the 8k event.
Head coach
Josh Nething's team accounted for 312 total points in the 13-team field.
The Panthers were paced by
Drew Lugafet's time of 29:28.93, which was good enough for 47
th place.
Braden McNair crossed the line in 61
st place with a time of 31:11.36. Teammate
Austin Oman was two spots behind him for 63
rd place. He registered a time of 31:33.15.
Hector Lopez snagged 68
th place after posting a time of 33:25.36 while Andrew Van Gomple rounded out the scorers for York. He was 73
rd with a time of 34:58.91.
Trenton Orlando provided solid depth for the squad, taking 76
th with a time of 36:35.75.
The York University women's cross country team finished 11th overall.
The Panthers were paced by
Lilly Carr's time of 28:07.66, which was good enough for 62
nd place. Teammate Megan Dehart's 67
th-place finish in the 6k event. She crossed the line in 29:05.02.
Megan Johnston recorded a 7
th-place effort after posting a time of 30:16.52.
Cierra Dringman took 84
th with a time of 31:58.54.
Abby Schopper completed the scorers for the Panthers in 90
th place. She accounted for a time of 34:0043.
Morgan Dinkler and
Mayah Colle provided solid depth for the squad. Dinkler was 92
nd in a time of 34:19.36 while Colle placed 96
th in 35:22.44.
