SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The York University women's cross country team finished 26
th at the Augustana Twilight Classic, which took place Friday evening.
South Dakota State won the meet while Minnesota State and Augustana rounded out the top three teams.
The Panthers were led by Maddie Carr's time of 21:31.81 in the 5,000m event. She finished 144
th at the meet.
Lilly Carr was not far behind her, snagging 157
th place. Carr crossed the line in 157
th place.
Megan Johnston and Megan Dehart were running close behind. Johnston finished 161
st with a time of 23:56.01 while Dehart was 162
nd after posting a mark of 24:22.94.
Morgan Dinkler crossed the line in 169
th place after registering a time of 25:58.42.
Mayah Colle was two spots behind her, taking 171
st after reaching the line in 28:24.55.
The York University men's cross country team had four student-athletes compete at the meet.
The men were led by
Braden McNair's time of 21:56.03 in the four-mile event. The freshman finished 237
th at the meet. Teammate
Austin Oman, also competing in his first meet, posted a mark of 21:58.86, which was good enough for 243
rd place.
Sophomore
Drew Lugafet crossed the finish line in 23:01.42. Lugafet snagged 317
th place at the season-opening meet.
Second-year student-athlete
Trenton Orlando was 375
th after posting a time of 25:34.54.
The Panthers return to action Sept. 13 at the John Muthama-Rogers Cross Country Invite, which will take place in North Newton, Kan.
