YORK - York College built a 21-point lead at the break and looked to be sitting in a good spot Monday night against the Avila University Eagles. However, the Eagles erased their deficit with a 22-3 run to start the second half to pull within one point at 41-40. The Panthers were able to score again and keep the game back-and-forth before the Eagles took their first lead of the game with 7:19 remaining in the game when Jaylin Dinkins made two free throws to make it 55-53.

York was quick to react and erase their only deficit less than 20 seconds later after Keyaun Hoskin drove to the hoop to tie the game at 55. Brent Clark made a two-point basket as he was fouled on the next possession and the Panthers never trailed again. Over the final five minutes of play York was solid from the charity stripe to keep the Eagles at a distance and secure the Panthers' fourth win in five games.

The Panthers scored 40 points in the paint to just 25 by the Eagles. York also outscored Avila 16-5 on bench points. Luka Gelb was dominant on the boards again as he finished with a double-double of 17 points adn 14 points.
