Box Score Sterling, KAN. - Keyaun Hoskin scored 21 second-half points to help the Panthers come from behind to beat the Sterling College Warriors on the road. York trailed by four points after the first half but used a solid 54% shooting from the field, including 44% from beyond the arc for a plus-12 advantage in the second half.
Luka Gelb was the offensive spark the Panthers need in the first half as he scored 17 of his 21 points to keep the Panthers in the game. Gelb made eight of the first eleven points for the Panthers. He was strong defensively pulling down 10 defensive rebounds and blocking three shots.
York led 37-32 with just over two minutes remaining in the first half. The Warriors went on a run and finished the half up 46-42.
To begin the second half it was the Hoskin and Erik Talton show as they combined for the first 13 points for York before Jordan Marble drained a three-point basket. That was a part of the Panthers' 23-4 run to open up the second half and never look back.
York led 82-66 win just over four minutes remaining in the game. The Warriors didn't back down however putting the pressure on the Panthers and going on their own run as they allowed just one field goal the rest of the game. Gelb made a layup to put the Panthers on top 84-72 with 1:45 remaining. That was the final field goal for York as the Warriors began to foul. It seemed to be the working strategy as the Panthers missed three free throws down the stretch. Hoskin sealed the game however with two free throws with 10 seconds remaining.
