YORK - A back-and-forth game on Wednesday night needed an extra five minutes to prove the game-winner. The visiting McPherson College Bulldogs came out on top with a 94-90 win after the overtime period. 

After building a 10 point lead at the start of the second half the Panthers offense stalled for the next four minutes as McPherson went on a 13-2 run. It was a back-and-forth game the rest of the way with Erik Talton banking in a long two-pointer as he was fouled to bring the Panthers back within one point with four seconds remaining. He made the free throw to tie the game and force overtime. 

Brent Clark fouled out at the end of regulation and the Panthers' leading scorer was sorely missed over the last five minutes of the game.

McPherson's Curtis Rose scored all 10 of his points, and the team's, in overtime to lead the Bulldogs to the win.

Key Statistics

Two key statistics stuck out after the loss for the Panthers on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs outscored the Panthers 31-8 in points-off-turnovers. And their bench scored 44 points to the Panthers bench scoring just 16.

Four starters scored in double figures for the Panthers. Brent Clark led all scorers with 24 points. Erik Talton added 22. Isaiah King knocked in 15, with Andrew Bennett adding 10.

York will host Bethany College on Saturday afternoon with tip-off scheduled for 5:00 p.m. It is the final home game of the first semester for the Panthers.

York falls to 5-7 overall and 3-3 in the KCAC.
