KEARNEY, Neb. – The York University women's track and field team opened the season at the UNK Pre-Holiday Meet Friday.
Kamrie Dillan took home the title in the 200m after crossing in 27.06. She narrowly missed out on another gold, posting a 1:02.93 in the 400m, which was good enough for second place.
Felicity Johnson (1:07.03) and
Lauren Tucker (1:11.60) were fourth and sixth, respectively, in the event.
Dillan accounted for a second-place finish in the 400m with a time of 1:02.93. registered a third-place effort in the 60m after notching a time of 8.17.
Johnson was fourth in her section of the 400m with a time of 1:07.03 while Tucker was sixth in her section after recording a time of 1:11.60.
Maddie Davis and
Morgan Dinkler were fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 600-yard event. Davis crossed in 1:43.24 while Dinkler took a time of 1:52.04.
The Panthers reached the podium in the 800m after
Jadon Hess garnered a mark of 2:42.27 for third place. Megan Dehart narrowly missed a bronze, placing fourth in the mile with a time of 6:36.87.
A trio of York student-athletes earned a top-12 finish in the weight throw.
Ascha Utter was eighth (13.54m) while
Delanie Namuth (12.25) and
Alexis Gibbons (11.67m) were 10
th and 11
th, respectively.
The Panthers return to action Jan. 11 at the Scott Nisely Invite.
