CRETE, Neb. – The York University track and field teams competed at the Fred Beile Classic on Saturday.
Head coach
Josh Nething's squads were paced by several top-10 finishes.
On the women's side,
Lauren Tucker snagged a seventh-place effort in the 400m, crossing the finish line in 1:12.41.
Abby Davis and
Lauren Tucker were eighth and ninth, respectively, in the 200m. Davis clocked in at 28.94 while Tucker posted a time of 32.60.
Cierra Dringman notched an eighth-place finish in the 600m with a time of 1:46.78.
Samantha Bayer's mark of 2:43.45 in the 800m was good enough for ninth place.
Dringman also secured a ninth-place finish in the pole vault after clearing 2.80m.
Abby Davis secured a 14
th-place finish in the 60m after notching a time of 8.76. Fellow rookie
Megan Johnston was 15
th in the 1,000m, posting a time of 3:40.78.
Katy Soucek and
Abby Brooks were 21
st and 25
th, respectively, in the shot put. Soucek registered a mark of 10.67 while Brooks' best attempt was 10.04m.
Allie Parker led the four in the weight throw with a 23
rd-place finish (12.04m). Brooks was 27
th(11.13m) while Soucek (29
th – 10.77) and Namoi Taake (34
th – 8.67m) also took part in the event.
Maisie Briscoe took 27
th in the mile (6:33.22).
On the men's side the Panthers were led by
Conner Neuhalfen's third-place finish in the 200m. He posted a time of 24.32. Neuhalfen was 10
th in the60m, crossing the line in 7.33.
Braden McNair snagged a fifth-place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:02.27 while
Zion Atwood was 10
th (2:07.52).
Trenton Orlando took home seventh place in the 400m (53.15).
Austin Oman garnered a top-10 finish, taking 10
th, in the mile. He accounted for a time of 4:50.86.
Drew Lugafet narrowly missed a top-10 finish by placing 13
th. He crossed the line in 10:33.31.
Hector Lopez earned a 19
th-place effort in the 600m after securing a time of 1:36.11.
The Panthers return to action Feb. 13-14 at the KCAC Indoor Conference Meet in Wichita, Kan.
