OMAHA, Neb. – The York University women's track and field team placed sixth with 48 points at the KCAC Championships, which wrapped up Saturday evening.
The Panthers started the meet Friday with
Candice Jones snagging a second-place finish in the shot put. On her next-to-last attempt, she posted a mark of 12.51m, besting third place by a mere .01m. On her fifth throw,
Elizabeth Zaiger accounted for a mark of 12.16m, which was good enough for fifth place. The two combined for 12 points.
Cierra Dringman's effort of 3.00m was good enough for fourth place in the pole vault. Dringman secured five points for her mark.
The 4x800m relay team of
Abby Schopper,
Jadon Hess, Megan Dehart and
Morgan Dinkler garnered two points with a seventh-place effort in the 4x800m. The quartet finished the race in 11:19.29.
On Saturday, Zaiger claimed the title in the weight throw after posting an effort of 15.80m. Jones snagged third with a mark of 15.06m while
Delanie Namuth claimed sixth with an effort of 13.76m.
Kamrie Dillan took home fourth place in the 400m, besting fifth place by a mere .01 of a second. Dillan crossed the line in 1:01.34.
The quartet of
Jadon Hess,
Alana Barron,
Morgan Dinkler and Megan Dehart took seventh in the DMR with a time of 15:25.98.
The foursome of Dillan, Schopper, Dringman and
Lauren Tucker took home seventh place in the 4x400m relay.
The Panthers return to action when they compete at the UNK Last Chance Meet on February 21 starting at 3 p.m.
