KEARNEY, Neb. – The York University men's track team had a solid afternoon at the season-opening UNK Pre-Holiday Meet.
The Panthers were led by rookie
Conner Neuhalfen's winning time in the 200m of 23.64. Teammate
Dakwan Cash earned a top-five effort in the event after posting a time of 24.28.
Drew Lugafet garnered a fourth-place effort in the mile with a time of 5:17.85. In the 800m,
Braden McNair notched a fourth-place finish after posting a time of 2:05.98 while
Austin Oman was right behind him, snagging sixth with a time of 2:10.87.
Trenton Orlando accounted for a ninth-place finish in the 400m. His time of 53.10 earned him a top-10 mark.
In the 60m, Neuhalfen posted a time of 7.20, which was good enough for 14
th. Cash's time of 7.43 allowed him to take 25
th place.

The Panthers were led by
Megan DeHart's second-place finish in the mile. She posted a time of 6:36.95 while teammate
Megan Johnston took third after crossing the line in 6:52.41.
The 400m event saw
Cierra Dringman snag a fourth-place finish after posting a time of 1:03.66.
Lauren Tucker was fifth in 1:12.58.
The 800m event saw a pair of York student-athletes take fourth and fifth as well.
Samantha Bayer notched a time of 2:47.54 while Johnston crossed in 3:01.23 for the two rookies.
Freshman
Katy Soucek accounted for a fourth-place finish in the shot put after posting a mark of 11.07m. In the long jump, rookie Eliana Cooper was sixth (3.73m).
The weight throw saw a trio of Panthers earn top-10 finishes. Allie Parker led the way in sixth place (11.52m) while Soucek was eighth (10.49m).
Naomi Taake garnered ninth place with a mark of 9.29m.
Dringman's effort in the pole vault of 2.97m was good enough for ninth place.
Abby Davis turned in a time of 29.06 in the 200m allowed her to take fourth. The freshman had a time of 8.59 in the 60m, which was good enough for 20
th.
The Panthers return to action Saturday, Jan. 17 at the Scott Nisely Invite at 10 a.m.
