DAVENPORT, Iowa – The York University men's wrestling team lost a pair of matches on Saturday, falling 42-3 to Missouri Baptist and 48-3 to St. Ambrose.
Against Missouri Baptist,
Jamie Watts secured a 9-4 victory in the 165-lb. class for the team's three points. He bested James Johnson in the match.
Several matches were nail-biters that did not go the way of the Panthers.
At 133,
Hector Holguin lost a 12-10 decision.
Cole Schaub was bested by a 9-6 decision in the 141-lb. class.
Caleb Davis dropped a hard-fought 3-2 decision to his foe at the 174-lb. division.
Elijah Kaawa fell by a 6-0 count in the 149-lb. class while
Blake Mingle lost to his opponent in the 184-lb. division.
Schaub picked up a 7-4 decision at 141 against St. Ambrose. It marked the lone victory for York.
The Panthers return to action at the Falcon Open on Saturday, Nov. 1.
