YORK, Neb. – The York University men's wrestling team lost a 52-4 decision to Avila Thursday evening during Military Appreciation Night.
The Panthers are now 0-6 overall, including 0-4 in KCAC action.
Head coach Shawn Cantos' team opened the match as
Travis Reidy took on Raul Romero in the 125-lb. division. Reidy lost the competition via pin fall.
Hector Holguin took on Aiden Pina in the 133-lb. class. He lost via major decision by a score of 13-5.
Conner Thurston competed against Kristjan Marshall in the 157-lb. division. Thurston put forth a solid effort before falling via a pin.
Caleb Davis secured four points for the Panthers in the 174-lb. class. He took on Cam'ron Morris and registered an emphatic 15-2 major decision victory.
York lost six matches due to forfeit. The matches were at the 141-lb., class, 149-lb., class, 165-lb. class, 184-lb., class, 197-lb., class and the 285-lb., class.
The Panthers return to action Saturday, Jan. 31, when they host Oklahoma Wesleyan for Senior Day starting at 2 p.m. Live video will be available at Yorkpanthers.com.
