CEDARVILLE, Ohio. – The York University women's track and field team performed well at the NCCAA Indoor National Championships, earning a ninth-place finish.
The team secured 29 points at the meet.
On Friday,
Abby Schopper recorded a third-place finish in the pentathlon. She accumulated 2,218 points, helping the team secure six points.
Kamrie Dillan was fifth in the event, accumulating 1,699 points. She picked up four points for York.
In the 400m event on Saturday,
Cierra Dringman wrapped up the race in 1:03.28, which was good enough for seventh place. She accounted for two points for the Panthers with her result.
In the shot put,
Candice Jones snagged a fifth-place finish while
Elizabeth Zaiger took ninth. Jones recorded a mark of 12.37m for four points while Zaiger's effort of 11.85m narrowly missed a top-eight finish.
Jones and Zaiger thrived in the weight throw. Jones secured second place while Zaiger took fourth. The two combined for 13 points. Jones had a mark of 16.0m while Zaiger's best attempt went for 15.34m.
Ascha Utter and
Delanie Namuth were 10
th and 12
th, respectively, in the event. Utter posted a mark of 12.96m while Namuth's attempt was 12.21m.

The Panthers return to action Wednesday, Feb. 12, when they compete at the KCAC Indoor Championships, which are hosted in Omaha, Neb.
