WICHITA, Kan. – The York University men's wrestling team lost a 32-15 contest at Friends University Thursday evening.
Trailing 6-0,
Ernest Grant quickly put the Panthers back into the match. In the 133-lb. division, Grant bested his foe by a 14-3 score for a major decision win.
Down 12-4,
Brayden Smith took down his foe in the 149-lb. class in just 1:08 for the six points.
York's
Tanner Hawkins put up arguably the biggest offensive effort of the evening in the dual meet with an emphatic 18-3 technical fall win in the 197-lb. division. He did so in 6:53.
The visitors had a pair of close losses on the evening.
Dayton Fraser fell by a 9-5 decision at the 184-lb. class while
Marce Vasquez dropped a 4-2 decision at 285.
