CRETE, Neb. – The York University men's track and field team had multiple first-place finishes at the Jim Dutcher Classic, which wrapped up Friday.
In the running events,
Jordan Norton claimed third place in the 200m after crossing the line in 22.89.
Dakwan Cash finished 11
th in 24.22.
Norton snagged a sixth-place effort in the 100m with a time of 11.20, edging
Anthony Hodson, who took seventh at 11.25.
Trenton Orlando accounted for a ninth-place finish in the 400m after posting a time of 52.20.
Drew Lugafet and
Allan Rop were 13
th and 14
th, respectively, in the 1,500m. Lugafet posted a time of 4:51.09 while Rop notched a time of 5:19.52.
In the field events,
Alphonse Jackson won the shot put with a solid effort of 15.82m.
Jackson claimed 11
th in the hammer throw with a mark of 45.71m.
Zach Oakleaf placed 25
th after posting a throw of 32.75m.
Oakleaf was 22
nd in the discus after obtaining a mark of 29.43m.
The decathlon saw
Cooper Dillan,
Andrew Heinrichs and
Tytan Taylor each secure victories along the way. Heinrichs took fifth with 6,119 points while Taylor accumulated 5,442 points. Taylor won the 100m, high jump and javelin throw. Heinrichs claimed titles in the 400m and 1,500m. Dillan picked up a victory in the discus en route to a ninth-place finish with 4,541 points.
The Panthers return to action Apr. 25-26 at the Drake Relays.
