LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – The York University women's wrestling team competed at the Spire ClassicFriday.
Head coach
Jeff Albers' team was led by
Jill High's first-place finish in the 131-lb division. She opened the meet with a pin fall victory in just 20 seconds over Hannah Henderson. She recorded a pin in 2:00 against Kaydence Bonewell. After notching a 10-0 technical fall win over Lainey Farley, she bested Chase Kiel in 1:18 for the first-place medal.
Jocelyn Prado and Angie Rose each secured sixth-place finishes. Prado notched the place in the 103-lb. class while Rose took home sixth in the 180-lb. division.
Prado picked up a win over Kaylee Campbell with a 26-second pin fall. Rose bested
Kodi Taylor in 1:41 via pin fall.
Grace Conner (110-lb. division),
Kodi Taylor (180-lb. division) and
Makayla Meyer (117-lb. division) registered seventh-place efforts.
Conner accounted for a win over Raquel Garcia. Taylor posted an 8-0 win over Alissa Deyapp while Meyer snagged w victory over Jaxi Ervin.
Ryanne Dunn took eighth in the 138-lb. class.
The Panthers return to action Sunday at the KCAC Sooner Duals in Oklahoma City, Okla. The event is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
