CRETE, Neb. – The York University men's track and field team put forth a tremendous effort against solid competition.
Zion Atwood racked up 4896 points in the decathlon, which was good enough for seventh place. He took second in the 1,500m (4:50.33) and the pole vault (3.65m). Atwood snagged fourth place in the discus (28.99).
Drew Lugafet had a solid effort in the 10,000m. The sophomore recorded a time of 37:45.83, which was good enough for fourth place.
In Sunday's field events, Jaden Beske snagged eighth place in the high jump after clearing 1.83m.
In Sunday's running events, Conner Neuhalfen had an outstanding performance in the 100m. He narrowly missed out on first place after crossing the line in 10.88. Later in the day, Neuhalfen once again earned the silver medal by the narrowest of margins. He crossed the line in 22.16, just two-hundredths of a second behind first place.
Braden McNair took home ninth place in the 1,500m after recording a time of 4:18.69. Austin Oman was not far behind his teammate, taking 13th with a time of 4:29.74.
Trenton Orlando garnered a ninth-place finish in the 400m. He tallied a time of 52.81.
The Panthers return to action Apr. 23 at the Prairie Wolf Invitational.
