Box Score 2 YORK -York hosted a strong Friends University team on Tuesday night at the York Ballpark Complex. The Panthers were ready for the tough task at hand as they earned a split with the second-place KCAC team. York held strong in game one but fell 3-0. The Panthers' offense came to life in game two and beat the Falcons 8-5.
Game One Highlights
Natalie Luna was thrown out at home on a controversial no-call as she tried to steal. Luna got a decent jump after the catcher threw back to third, but she ran into a brick wall as the Falcon catcher was blocking the lane to the plate. A player is not allowed to cover the base before the ball in their possession. The Panthers also stranded eight runners in the contest.
Game Two Highlights
Gabby Loya hit a grand slam in the first inning to give the Panthers the 4-1 lead. The Falcons took over that lead in the top of the fifth inning before York scored four unanswered runs in the fifth and sixth to earn the split. Briana Walters hit a home run while picking up the win in the circle. Kate Reyes earned the save finishing off the game in the final inning.

York is on the road this weekend with a doubleheader against Oklahoma Wesleyan on Saturday, followed by a doubleheader at Southwestern on Sunday.
