Box Score 3 Kansas City, MO. - York traveled to Avila University over the weekend and played solid baseball as they took the series 2-1 against the Eagles. York split the doubleheader on Saturday 10-6 and 0-8. On Sunday it was a pitcher's duel as the Panthers won 3-1.
Game One Highlights
York scored a combined nine runs in the seventh and eighth inning to come from behind to beat the Eagles. Trailing 6-1 the Panthers opened up the scoring in the seventh led by Ethan Lanz's homerun. A couple of walks later Jesus Licon and Tony Riley scored runs on a couple of base hits. In the eighth inning, it was Ian Heck that hit a 3-run pinch-hit homer. Emmanuel Herrera picked up the win pitching the final three innings and not allowing a hit.
Game Two Highlights
York struggled offensively in the game only getting three hits scattered through the seven innings. The Eagles had their timing down for Daniel Tomkiewicz as he lasted just four innings while allowing seven runs.
Game Three Highlights
Blake Hernandez struck out seven batters and went 7.1 innings while allowing just one run. Alejandro Loera gave the Panthers the lead with a solo home run in the third inning. Freddy Tlatenchi singled in Tyler Harris in the fourth and then Austin Eisenmenger scored Alex Hinrichs in the seventh to push the Panthers up 3-0. The Eagles scored their run in the bottom of the eighth before Tyler Brakenhoff closed out the game with the save.
