Box Score 2 Ottawa, KAN. - York College held strong through the first game but couldn't get any offense going before losing 5-0. Game two was similar for the Panthers as they couldn't get the bats rolling but the Braves' offense was hitting on all cylinders as they beat York 10-0 to pick up the sweep.
The Panthers were able to get four hits in the first game, two of which were owned by Breanna Underwood. She also picked up a stolen base in the game, but unfortunately, the Panthers weren't able to knock her home. Kieyerah Twombly and Katy Fazendin picked up the other two hits for the Panthers.
In game two the Panthers only collected three hits over five innings. Underwood and Fazendin each had one, while Carla Martinez added one as well. Underwood picked up two stolen bases, both in the first inning, but the Panthers were once again unable to score.
Ottawa's pitching staff was solid on the day as they struck out 15 batters between the two games. York will play at Avila University midweek before finally being at home on Saturday as they host the University of St. Mary in a doubleheader.
