Box Score 2 Wichita, KAN. - York jumped out quickly in their first game on Saturday to take an 11-4 lead against RV Midland University, but the Warriors stormed back and won 14-12. In the second game Graceland won 8-3 after going ahead in the first inning and never looking back.
York vs. Midland
Kennedie Anderson was 3-for-4 from the plate with three home runs and nine RBIs for the Panthers. She hit a home run against three different pitchers as the Warriors had no answer for the outfielder. Sofia Perez also tallied three hits in the ball game as she went 3-for-5 from the plate.
Breanna Underwood continued her offensive streak as she picked up two hits, including a triple, and a stolen base. Sariah Ayala added two hits, along with Katherine Arceo, and Katy Fazendin.
York led 11-4 going into the fourth inning but the Warriors scored six runs to take the lead and never look back.
York vs. Graceland
Sariah Ayala and Katherine Arceo were the power offensively for the Panthers as they were responsible for six of the seven hits for York, each garnering three. Katy Fazendin was the only other Panther to record a hit in the game. Bailey Hardey went 4.2 innings as she picked up the loss. She allowed five runs on 12 hits.
The Panthers will travel to the McPherson College tournament this coming weekend before starting KCAC play the beginning of the following week.
