Box Score 3 YORK - The York College Panthers had a long day on Sunday playing a triple-header against the Avila University Eagles after the rain forced Saturday's game back a day. The Panthers made the most of it winning the first two games in dominating fashion 4-2 and 6-1, before falling 6-2 in the final game of the season.
Game One
Daniel Tomkiewicz dominated the Eagles allowing just one hit through the seven-inning matchup. His no-hitter was broken up in the sixth inning after an error extended the inning that led to the hit. Tomkiewicz fanned 10 batters on the day, including five in a row during the second and third innings.
The Panther bats were alive as well with home runs being hit in the first three innings to produce all four runs. Daniel Polo started the scoring off when he hit a two-run shot to right field in the first inning. Charlie Konstantino homered in the second, while Jesus Licon hit a solo shot in the third. Freddy Tlatenchi was perfect from the plate as he went 2-2 on the day.
That was all of the Panthers' scoring, but it was enough for York as Tomkiewicz did the rest. The Eagles scored two unearned runs in the sixth to put the game at 4-2.
Game Two
Treyton Scully dominated the second game allowing just one run over seven innings of play. That run came in the sixth inning on a solo home run. But the Panthers had a 6-0 lead at the time to not be worried.
Daniel Polo hit his second home run of the day, a three-run shot in the third inning. Polo finished 2-3 in the game. Jesus Licon went 2-3 in the game and Luke Juarez finished the game going 2-4 with a run scored.
Game Three
Ruben Colliander gave up an unearned run in the first to give the Eagles their first lead of the day. York tied the game up in the fourth as Polo doubled in Licon to make it a 1-1 ball game. Bryce Tucker came into pitch in the fifth inning and the Eagles' bats came alive as they scored five in the inning thanks to an error, two hits, and two hit-by-pitches. The Panthers tried to make a comeback in the bottom half of the inning but were only able to get one run back as Licon scored Tlatenchi to make it 6-2.
Marce Vasquez closed out the game with two strikeouts and a groundout, but the Panthers weren't able to score any more runs in the final two innings.
Licon was a perfect 3-3 in the game and Tlatenchi was 2-2. Austin Eisengmenger finished 2-3 as well.
