Box Score 2 York got a huge split Wednesday against number four in the conference, Avila. The first game was slow for the Panthers as they were only able to put up one hit and no runs. York's defense also struggled in the loss, posting three errors. All three of these errors allowed runners to score. However, the second game was a huge turnaround for the Panthers who were led by Kennedie Anderson who went 3-for-4, and Haylea Thomas who came in to pinch hit in the bottom of the third producing a 2-RBI double to right field. The Panthers will celebrate their seniors this Saturday at home in a doubleheader against the #17-ranked Ottawa Braves.
Game One:
Game one wasn't too exciting for the Panthers as York fell 6-0 and only posted one hit by Sofia Perez. The Panthers were also only able to draw two walks against Avila. The defense was also a struggle for York as they had three errors, allowing three runs to cross the plate. Kate Reyes got the loss for the Panthers throwing seven innings, allowing three hits, three earned runs, and striking out two.
Game Two:
In a huge turnaround, the Panthers sprung to life in game two putting up ten hits, six runs, and forcing seven walks against Avila. The Panthers had huge offensive performances by Kennedie Anderson, Nevaeh Reed, Katherine Arceo, and Haylea Thomas. York also had three doubles in game two and two huge sac bunts by Carla Martinez. Bailey Hardey got the win for York throwing seven innings allowing eight hits, three earned runs, and striking out four.
