Box Score 3 YORK - The York baseball team was unable to pick up a win this series against Ottawa. In a doubleheader on Saturday they were able to put up a fight in the first game losing 2-0 but were unable to stop Ottawa in the second game losing 11-1. The series wrapped up Sunday as York was able to put some hits together to score six runs but couldn't stop Ottawa's offense causing another loss of 14-6. The Panthers are now 10-9 in the conference and currently sixth in the KCAC standings.
Game One Highlights
In a well-fought game, the Panthers were not able to get their bats going against Ottawa. Connor Larson recorded York's only hit which was a double down the left-field line. York's pitching staff held the Braves to just two runs and 8 hits. Ian Heck got the start for York and did as much as he could throwing 6.2 innings, allowing seven hits, and striking out nine. He allowed just one unearned run but the Panthers' offense was unable to offer any support. James Mockry entered the game in the seventh inning giving up one hit and striking out three.
Game Two Highlights
Much like game one York couldn't get their bats going but the Braves came out swinging in game two. After a scoreless first two innings for both teams, the Braves broke it up scoring a run in the third followed by four more in the fourth. York's defense was not as solid this game making four errors and the pitching staff giving up 13 hits. York put up three hits including an RBI single from Ian Heck. Owen McClung got the loss for York, throwing four innings, allowing six hits, and striking out two. Marce Vasquez, Noah Rasnick, and Nic Murcek each threw one inning.
Game Three Highlights
York came ready to play game three but fell short to the Braves. The Panthers were able to get their bats going with 12 hits. York started their scoring in the second inning with an Alejandro Loera double to center field followed by an RBI single down the right field line by Ian Heck. The Braves were able to get their bats going in the fourth and scored eight runs and putting them up for good. Secundino Morales hit a two-run home run over the left field wall in the bottom of the seventh for the Panthers' final runs of the game. Thomas Fogle got the loss pitching four innings allowing five hits, one home run, and seven runs. Tyler Chavis threw for two innings allowing three hits, one home run, and three runs. James Mockry threw for 2.2 innings allowing one hit and three runs. Marce Vasquez threw for 0.1 innings allowing two hits and one run.
