DODGE CITY, Kan. – The York University men's golf team took second in the bronze bracket at the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Match Play Event, which wrapped up earlier this week.

Jefferson Cook's team was in 11
th place after the first round of competition. Playing the bronze bracket, the Panthers picked up a pair of wins in the three-way match against Ottawa and Bethel. York won 3 & 2 over Ottawa and posted an identical score in the victory over Bethel.
Ashton Johnson notched a 1 Up victory against Ottawa.
Francisco Carvalho Gouveia was up by one after 22 holes of competition.
Tanner Simmerman garnered the victory as Ottawa did not have another student-athlete competing.
Against Bethel, Gouveia tallied a 4 & 2 victory over his foe.
Aaron Bartak registered a 2 & 1 win while Simmerman accounted for a 5 & 4 victory.
The Panthers return to action Oct. 21-22 at the Railwood Golf Course in Holts Summit, Mo.
