LINCOLN, Neb. – The York University men's golf team opened the 2025-26 season with a 16
th-place finish at the Blue River Classic, which was hosted by Doane.
The Panthers posted a 54-hole score of +160, 1024. The team shot scores of 337-348-339 for the two-day total.
Francisco Carvalho Gouveia led the team with his 34
th-place finish. He accounted for a score of five-over par, 14, for the tournament. Gouveia notched a pair of birdies during the final round of play, coming on the 10
th and 11
th holes.
Tanner Simmerman garnered a total of 43-over par at the event. His score was good enough for 78
th place.
Malachi Meador registered a three-round score of 50-over par. He placed 83
rd.
Aaron Bartak took 86
th with a 63-over par.
Christian Flint was just a stroke behind Bartak, placing 87
th. He finished at 64-over par. During the final round, Flint registered birdies on the seventh and 13
th holes.
The Panthers return to action Sept. 15-16 against Central Christian College. The event will be played in McPherson, Kan.
