YORK, Neb. – The York University women's wrestling team had a solid day at the York Open Saturday.

The Panthers' Rocio Chavez Fuentes secured a third-place finish for 15 points. After losing her opening match, Chavez Fuentes secured a win via fall in 2:08. In the consolation semifinals, she registered another win with a pin, this time in 2:51. In the third-place match, Chavez Fuentes won with another pin fall in a mere 34 seconds.

Jill High posted a third-place finish as well en route to 13.5 points. After an opening-round bye, she pinned her first foe in 1:13. In the quarterfinal, High posted an 8-4 decision over her foe for a berth in the semifinals. In the consolation bracket, she secured a win via fall in 26 seconds. High took third with a 25-second victory via a pin.
 
The Panthers return to action Saturday, Jan. 25 at Indiana Tech.
