INDIANOLA, Iowa – The York University women's wrestling team had a solid outing at the Luther Hill Invitational Saturday.

Jill High earned 18.5 points in the 131-lb. class. She opened with a victory via fall against Iowa Central CC in 1:51. Another pin fall win was secured in the quarterfinal in 5:57 against an opponent from Iowa Lakes CC. High picked up a win in the third-place match via tech fall (10-0) for the bronze medal.

Cheyenne Stacy tallied 16 points in the 124-lb. division. She registered a pin fall in 1:01 against her opponent from Indian Hills. In the quarterfinal, Stacy had another victory via fall in 34 seconds against her foe from Southeast CC. She reached the third-place match before falling.

Piper Kunnap reached the third-place match in the 160-lb. class. She opened the event with a pin fall win over her opponent from McMurry in 2:08. In the quarterfinal, Kunnap secured another win via fall in 4:15.

Rocio Chavez earned a seventh-place finish in the 110-lb. class. She picked up 14.5 points. Chavez opened the event with a fall win in 2:42 over her foe from McMurry. In the consolation bracket, she notched another pin fall in 4:05. Against a foe from Iowa Western CC, Chavez earned a fall in 1:38.

In the 103-lb. class, Jocelyn Prado picked up 5.5 points. She opened the day with a pin in just 36 seconds. In the consolation bracket, Prado picked up another pin fall win in just 50 seconds.

Elyannah Ciinton garnered a 4-2 win in the consolation bracket at the 180-lb. division for 0.5 points. Kodi Taylor also garnered 0.5 points after notching a win by a 7-4 count via decision against her foe from William Penn.

The Panthers return to action Saturday, Nov. 8, when they compete at the Waldorf Open. The event is slated to start at 9 a.m.
