CRETE, Neb. – The York University men's track and field team competed at the Fred Beile Classic Saturday.
Anthony Hodson garnered a bronze medal with his third-place effort in the 400m. He crossed the line in 51.80.
Jordan Norton posted a fifth-place time of 23.78 in the 200m while
Dakwan Cash was 11
th after
crossing the line in 25.03.
Hodson accounted for a sixth-place effort in the 60m after crossing in 7.31.
Trenton Orlando nabbed a seventh-place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:06.11.
The 4x400m relay team of Hodson, Orlando,
Andrew Heinrichs and
Jaden Beske claimed the gold medal with a time of 3:31.47.
In the field events, York turned in solid efforts.
Alphonse Jackson totaled a mark of 15.23m for sixth place while
Cooper Dillan was 28
th after recording a mark of 11.10m.
Jackson continued his afternoon with another top-10 finish. In the weight throw, he ended up eighth after tallying a mark of 16.17m.
York had a stellar performance in the heptathlon as Heinrichs (second), Beske (fourth) and Dillan (fifth) earned top-five finishes. Heinrichs posted 4,407 points while Beske notched 3,905 points. Dillan accounted for 3,177 points for the Panthers.
The Panthers return to action Friday, Feb. 14 when they compete at the KCAC Indoor Conference Meet.
