HASTINGS, Neb. – The York University women's track and field team had a solid performance at the Hastings Invite on Saturday.
The Panthers were led by
Kamrie Dillan's victory in the 200m. She posted a time of 25.53 while teammate
Abby Schopper snagged eighth after crossing in 27.93. The duo also had good performances in the 100m. Dillan crossed the line in 12.43 for fourth place while Schopper accounted for a ninth-place effort in 13.37.
In the 400m hurdles,
Cierra Dringman was just off the podium with her fourth-place finish. She clocked a time of 1:09.44.
Jadon Hess garnered a fourth-place effort in the 800m with a time of 2:35.54 while
Morgan Dinkler was 10
th (2:56.09).
Megan Dehart posted an eighth-place finish in the 1,500m after crossing in 6:36.75.
The 4x400m relay team of Dillan, Schopper, Dringman and Hess combined for a bronze medal. The quartet wrapped up the event in 4:25.28.
In the field events,
Elizabeth Zaiger led the way with a fourth-place effort in the hammer throw after recording a mark of 45.74m.
Candice Jones was sixth (44.67m) while
Ascha Utter was 12
th (39.70m).
Delanie Namuth (15
th – 36.76m),
Alexis Gibbons (21
st – 34.19m) and Allie Parker (24
th – 32.67m) also had good efforts in the event.
Dringman was fifth in the pole vault after clearing 2.75m.
Alana Barron took home an 11
th-place finish in the javelin with an effort of 29.01m.
The Panthers return to action Apr. 17 at the John Green Combined Events meet starting at 2 p.m.
