SALINA, Kan. – The York University women's track and field team tallied a seventh-place effort at the KCAC Championships, which wrapped up Friday evening.
The Panthers finished with 31 points while Ottawa won the meet with 165 points.
The Panthers were led by
Candice Jones' second-place effort in the hammer throw. She accounted for a mark of 44.70m.
Elizabeth Zaiger was just behind her, taking third (44.26m).
Ascha Utter also scored in the event, taking eighth (39.49m).
Delanie Namuth (10
th – 37.87m), Allie Parker (20
th – 33.15m) and
Alexis Gibbons (23
rd – 31.74m) also had solid efforts in the event.
Jones snagged a bronze medal in the shot put. She posted a mark of 12.46m for third place. Zaiger garnered an eighth-place finish (11.45m) while Utter was 16
th (10.33m).
Cierra Dringman took fourth in the pole vault after clearing 2.90m. She was also seventh in the 400m hurdles, crossing the line in 1:09.14.
Zaiger notched a top-10 effort in the discus, snagging ninth. She posted a mark of 35.39m. Jones took 13
th (35.01m) while Utter (32.03m) was 20
th. Namuth placed 23
rd (29.94m) while Gibbons earned a 27
th-place finish (25.81m).
In the javelin, Alana Brown recorded a 16
th-place finish (27.12m).
Felicity Johnson was right behind her (26.92m) while Parker was 26
th (20.32m).
Brown cleared a height of 1.41m, which was good enough for 10
th in the high jump.
Kamrie Dillan registered a mark of 4.81m in the long jump for 15
th place.
The quartet of
Maddie Davis, Megan Dehart, Dringman and
Jadon Hess combined for a seventh-place finish in the 4x800m (11:08.20).
The Panthers return to action at the NCCAA National Championships May 8-10.
