SEWARD, Neb. – The York University women's track and field team had a pair of top-10 finishes at the Concordia Invite on Saturday.
The Panthers were led by
Delanie Namuth's seventh-place finish in the hammer throw. She posted a mark of 41.93m.
Candice Jones took 13
th in the event with a mark of 35.40m. Alexis Gibsons placed 14
th (34.20m) while
Ascha Utter was 15
th (33.93m). Allie Parker took 26
th (28.17m).
Alana Barron registered a ninth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.41m.
Four Panthers earned top-25 finishes in the discus event. Utter registered a 12
th-place finish with a mark of 32.27m. Jones snagged 16
th place (31.06m) while Namuth (28.80m) was 18
th and Gibbons placed 24
th (24.03m).
In the long jump,
Kamrie Dillan had an effort of 4.62m, which was good enough for 13
th.
Abby Schopper was not far behind her, snagging 17
th (4.40m).
Cierra Dringman accounted for 15
th place after clearing 2.76m in the pole vault.
In the two track events York took part in, Megan Dehart crossed the finish line in 6:34.61 in the 1,500m. Her effort was good for 14
th place.
Jadon Hess placed 15
th after crossing the line in 2:40.63 in the 800m.
The Panthers return to action Apr. 18 when they compete at the John Green Combined Events.
