COLUMBIA, S.C. – The York University women's track and field team performed well at the NCCAA National Championship, which wrapped up Friday afternoon.
Kamrie Dillan recorded a personal-best time of 25.22 in the 200m, which was good enough for fourth place. She advanced to the 100m finals where she took seventh. Dillan crossed the line in 12.68. Dillan garnered a season-best time in the 400m as she crossed the line in 1:00.33. The time was good enough for 10
th.
Cierra Dringman was just off the podium with her fourth-place effort in the 400m hurdles. Drignman had a personal-best time of 1:06.70, which was good enough for fourth.
Dringman accounted for another season-best mark, which occurred in the pole vault. Her mark of 2.90m allowed her to claim seventh place.
The hammer throw featured a pair of top-10 finishes, including a second-place mark by
Elizabeth Zaiger. She posted a personal-best effort of 49.22m for second place while
Candice Jones took seventh with a mark of 43.04m.
Ascha Utter's mark of 39.53m put her 12
th while
Delanie Namuth posted a 14
th-place finish with a mark of 37.70m.
The Panthers recorded two top-10 finishes in the shot put.
Candice Jones posted a mark of 12.17m, which was good enough for 17
th. Zaiger registered a season-best mark of 11.67m for seventh place.
Jones snagged 11
th place in the discus (34.84m). Utter was 16
th (31.63m) while Zaiger (30.25m) and
Abby Schopper (29.77m) took 19
th and 20
th, respectively.
The javelin featured rookie
Alana Barron's 10
th-place finish after a throw of 29.88m.
Felicity Johnson took 16
th after an effort of 25.71m.
Schopper posted a fifth-place finish in the heptathlon after totaling 3,287 points.
York took ninth with 33.5 points.
The Panthers return to action at the NAIA National Championships May 21-23 in Marion, Ind.
