HASTINGS, Neb. – The York University women's track and field team posted nine top-10 efforts at the Hastings Invite Saturday.
The Panthers were led by
Alana Barron's fourth-place finish in the javelin. She posted a mark of 30.96m.
Morgan Dinkler was fifth with an effort of 29.51m.
Mayah College (28.46m) and
Naomi Taake (26.10m) placed seventh and ninth, respectively.
Katy Soucek notched a fifth-place finish in the discus throw with a mark of 42.86m, breaking her own school record from the previous weekend.
Cierra Dringman's time of 1:15.21 was good enough for fifth place in the 400m hurdles.
Soucek garnered an eighth-place finish in the shot put (11.06m) while Eliana Cooper's effort of 4.19m in the long jump allowed her to take eighth place.
Dringman continued her solid day with a ninth-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 2.93m.
Abby Davis narrowly missed a top-10 finish in the 200m, claiming 11
th with a time of 27.63. Cooper placed 16
th after crossing the line in 30.66.
Allie Parker secured an 11
th-place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 38.36m while Taake was 14
th after posting a mark of 29.53m.
Megan Johnston led a trio of Panthers in the 1,500m – each of them earning a top-20 finish. Johnston finished the race in 5:54.93 for 15
th place. Megan Dehart and
Lauren Tucker were 17
th and 18
th, respectively. Dehart recorded a time of 6:10.26 while Tucker registered an effort of 6:18.96.
The Panthers return to action Apr. 16-17 at the John Green Combined Events.
