CRETE, Neb. – The York University women's track and field team had a solid week of performances against top-notch competition. .
Katy Soucek had a tremendous effort in the discus. The freshman garnered a sixth-place finish in the event, posting a mark of 39.65m.
Alana Barron led four Panthers in the javelin. She garnered an effort of 31.73m, which was good enough for 13
th place. Fellow sophomore
Mayah Colle was two spots back of Barron, snagging 15
th place (30.20m). Junior
Naomi Taake placed 17
th with a mark of 29.54m. Second-year standout
Morgan Dinkler was 18
th after recording an effort of 28.90m.
In Sunday's field events,
Cierra Dringman recorded a sixth-place finish in the pole vault. She cleared 2.83m for the top-10 finish.
Soucek took home 14
th place in the shot put after recording an effort of 11.14m with her second attempt. Eliana Cooper garnered a 15
th-place effort in the long jump. She produced a mark of 4.06m.
In Sunday's running events, Abby Davis secured a sixth-place finish in the 400m. She had a time of 1:05.95. Dringman also had a sixth-place finish – this time in the 400m hurdles. Dringman posted a time of 1:10.78 in the event.
Megan DeHart and
Megan Johnston were ninth and 10
th, respectively, in the 1,500m. DeHart crossed the lin in 5:51.48 while Johnston was right behind her with a time of 5:54.97.
Lauren Tucker was not far behind her teammates, accounting for 13
th place with a time of 6:13.81.
Dringman garnered a 12
th-place finish in the 100m hurdles after crossing the finish line in 18.09. Cooper was 16
th with a time of 14.51.
The 200m event saw Abby Davis earn a 13
th-place finish with a time of 28.30. Fellow Panther, Cooper, was one spot behind her after notching a time of 30.81.
In the 800m, Johnston was 14
th with a time of 2:55.73. DeHart was just behind her, finishing in 2:56.43.
The Panthers return to action Apr. 23 at the Prairie Wolf Invitational.
