Carolyn wore Panther blue from 1999 through 2002, playing Softball under Head Coach Doug Berry and finishing her career with Head Coach Rex Reynolds.

Carolyn 'Barr' Johnston was an All-Conference player all four years while playing at York College from 1999-2002. She also helped the team to their first postseason berth her freshman year and followed that up with helping the team to their first NAIA Regional berth her sophomore year. Her teammates described her as “a leader on the field and in the dugout! C-Barr was the ultimate teammate.” An outstanding shortstop and a leadoff hitter with the ability to switch-hit made her a standout on the field. Admired not only for her ability on the field, “C-Barr” was a student leader on campus, involved in social clubs and was broadly known as a friend to all. Always willing to lend a helping hand or in some cases, a great hug to anyone who crossed her path. Aside from her impact on the softball team, she also was involved as a leader in campus ministries, Beta Beta Sigma social club and held a work study position.

Because of her outstanding athletic achievements during her years with York University, on this day, October 22, 2022, Carolyn (Barr) Johnston is inducted into the York University Athletic Hall of Fame.
