Nick Harlan wore Panther blue from 1999 through 2001, playing first base under Head Coach Milan Rasic. The Oroville, California native began his coaching career in 2002 at Feather River Community College in Quincy, California. He returned to York a year later as assistant coach.

Beginning in 2004, Harlan was head coach at York University for 9 years. He led the Panthers to five regional berths, four straight Top 25 rankings, and a school-record 45 wins in 2010. His overall record eclipsed 300 wins. He was a 2 time MCAC Coach of the Year. 

In 2013, his team broke through to the next level earning a trip to the NAIA World Series. Harlan’s World Series team finished with a 42-12 overall record. They were recognized with the Hank Burbridge Champions of Character award, given to the one team in the nation that best exemplifies the five core values of the NAIA: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.

Nick has been part of the University of Central Arkansas Sugar Bears Baseball program since 2013 and was named head coach in 2021. During his years as UCA pitching coach, six pitchers have been taken in the Major League Baseball Draft.

Harlan is passionate about using athletics as a platform for teaching lessons about life and faith. He has built his career around helping young athletes find their passion, make good choices, and live with a higher purpose.

Because of his outstanding athletic achievements during his years with York University and his continued success in the world of athletics, on this day, October 22, 2022, Nick Harlan is inducted into the York University Athletic Hall of Fame.
