An offensive powerhouse, Jeremy Hogan ‘00 surpassed the 1,000-point barrier in just two years on the basketball team at York College. He earned All-Conference honors both seasons and was named conference player of the week twice during his senior season. He also earned NAIA player of the week honors when he set a Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference scoring mark of 44 points in a game.

After graduating with a degree in history education, Hogan started his career teaching at York High School and serving as an assistant men’s basketball coach at York College. From there he moved to several other schools and positions, blessing students as a teacher, coach, and eventually athletic director. He continued to invest in his education and earned a master’s and doctoral degree. He progressed in his career, serving even more children as a principal then assistant superintendent.

Today, Hogan is the superintendent of Miami Public Schools in Miami, Oklahoma. He was named the Southwest Oklahoma District #13 Principal of the Year once and Assistant Superintendent of the Year twice by the Cooperative Council of Oklahoma School Administrators.

Hogan’s family has faced significant health challenges, from cancer treatments to open heart surgery. Through every harrowing circumstance, they have demonstrated character, faith, and perseverance. Their lives have been a testimony to their communities about the power of prayer and the need for a faith that will not fail.

Because of his outstanding athletic achievements, leadership in the field of education, and unswerving faith in the face of adversity, on this day, October 19, 2018, Jeremy Hogan ‘00 is inducted into the York College Athletic Hall of Fame.
